Giro d’Arte
Materially Speaking was delighted to present Giro d’Arte, a rare opportunity to visit artists’ studios in Pietrasanta.
A weekend event with over 35 artists & artisans in more than 20 studios all around the city.
Although Pietrasanta is known as the città d’arte, visitors rarely get the opportunity to meet real artists in their places of work. The idea for Giro d’Arte was born over an aperitivo in the piazza. A spontaneous conversation between friends blossomed into a community-wide event inspired by the voices on the Materially Speaking podcast.
Materially Speaking has recorded the stories of more than 60 International artists on their popular podcast, and this year celebrates their five year anniversary. Check out the podcasts on any podcast player, or on ours episodes page where you’ll also find photographs of the artists’ work along with links to more information.
Giro d’Arte offers a rare opportunity to expand this community by welcoming guests to studios, each one opening for a 2–3 hour window over a weekend. Our first happened 24–25 May 2025, and we're already planning for the next one in May 2026.

Please save the dates in your calendar and share with your community!

Please note
These are working studios and you visit at your own risk. Most studios welcome supervised children and dogs on a leash. However, for safety reasons a few (noted on their individual pages) are unable to accommodate children under 12 or pets.
From the historic town, many studios are accessible on foot. However, having a car is advisable for some studios and we suggest car-sharing where possible.
